Fuel-efficient driving, road safety, and environmental awareness cannot only be taught theoretically — they must be experienced. The SILAB EcoDrive software package from WIVW GmbH offers the ideal complement for new driver courses and professional WAB training. Integrated into the RacingFuel simulator environment, it enables wear-free, safe, and fully reproducible training — with automatic evaluation at the end of each drive. The solution is already in use in driving centers throughout Switzerland. Participants practice anticipatory driving, correct gear selection, fuel-saving techniques, engine braking, and emergency braking — using an extensive catalog of drives including constant speed drives, mountain drives, coasting on the highway, and acceleration drives. In real-time, it becomes visible how gear selection and speed influence fuel consumption, fuel costs, and CO₂ emissions. The emergency braking module complements the training with realistic day, night, and fog scenarios. The detailed post-drive analysis shows speed, reaction time, and stopping distance — without endangering a single vehicle.
